Platja de Llevant is the only official dog beach in Barcelona, and the go-to destination for city dog owners looking for a proper seaside day out with their pets. Located at the northern end of the Barcelona coastline near Diagonal Mar, the dedicated dog area covers around 1,500m² of fenced beach with direct water access — giving dogs the rare freedom to swim and run off-lead in the sea. Open during the high season from late May to mid-September, 10:30am–7:30pm, the area has a capacity of 120 dogs and is equipped with dog showers, drinking fountains, waste facilities, and two full-time environmental officers. Outside of the summer bathing season, dogs are welcome on all Barcelona beaches without restriction.
